Does anyone have any suggestions about how to go about planning a wine and cheese party? What kinds of things should I serve? I want to set up before the party and everyone serve themselves so I can be a part of the party instead of rushing around a lot. It's not until next June, but I want it to be perfect and I'm already planning in my head. thanks

also a cheese fondue is nice, borrow a couple of cheese fondue pots and have 2 going. Cut up baguette, grapes and apple are yum dipped in cheese fondue. You can buy the packaged swiss fondue in a grocery store. (buy the best one though)
on your upcoming wedding.

clumps of grapes and apple pieces along with a fresh baguette.
never realized the matching and blending required - easy to do though when you have some direction. Great info!
It is good to serve 2or3 different flavours of each red and white wines. the plates look nice if you cut a few pieces of each cheese and leave the rest of the cheeses uncut. The cheeses should be kept in the fridge until approx. 30 mins. before serving but kept wrapped until the guests arrive. If you are serving a blue cheese it is wise to put on a separate plate with it's own knife as it will flavour all the rest.
you need approx. 1/2 a bottel of wine per person.Equal amounts of red and white and about 1/2 as much of a sparkling wine. serve 2or3 milder cheese with the white wine and the same amount of stronger cheeses with red wine, or mix them up some strong and some mild with both wines. Serve dessert cheeses, such as Brie atc. with the sparkling wine. It is also nice to serve a plain cracker or two and some olives, and maybe some flat bread. It is also nice to serve the dessert cheeses and wines on a separate tableIt is also nice to have coffee and tea and a small sweet on an other table, this forses people to move about. Hope this helps out some.
Hi Karenm, I like serving dips. Try some ready made "babagonush" (roasted eggplant dip) & pitas, or how about "olive tapenade" & some paris toast. Can't go wrong.
LCBO site.
They also have a free magazine they give out that always has great suggestions.
