Would this bug you... Or maybe it is just me..

Our neighbour's kids keep parking infront of our house when they have a empty garage pad to park on. Would this bug you too? Or is it just me? I know there is nothing I can do about it but it just bugs me.

I was just reading our local community newspaper and there was an article by the area City Councillor who reminded people that there was a parking by-law even though there may not be signs, a 3 hour maximum between 7am and 7pm. So that means anyone who is parked in front of my house for longer than 3 hours could be ticketed. If they move the vehicle it has to be a fair distance away also. Something to follow up on in your areas.

Idiot parking! LOL! Can I borrow that sign?

I just glarred at my neighbour this morning when she got into her car. As I starred at thier empty parking pad across the street! Stupid people! Oh and the RV is back after I saw the parking partrol come and talk to them (I didn't call them).

We live on a large corner lot and have a double parking space in front and another spot with a garage at the very back of the house where our property ends. Well, neighbours continuoously park behind our drive so you can't back out properly with enough clearance....a friend visiting with a van (no back window) went to back out one day and smashed right into the neighbour's car; he insisted on paying for repairs but they declined....knowing full well it was their fault....the laugh though, they continue doing this all the time. They also have grown children and multiple cars coming and going so think nothing of parking on the road behind us....there is a bushy area just three dorrs down where they could park without obstructing anyone, but, they are just too lazy to walk the length of three houses. Now...for our back; we have a garage and store our hauling trailor, large snowblower, etc. and can never get to them because the neighbour behind constanly has guests including the three vehicles they own parked on the road blocking us....in the winter, my husband has literally had to walk over and ask them to move so he can get the snowblower out....but it just continues. Unfortunately, we don't want to be known as the grumpy neighbours, but, it seems that with some people if you give an inch, they take a mile. Both sets of neighbours think nothing of parking in our designated parking spots if their drives aren't plowed or they have guests. I once saw a sign on somebody's garage with driveway, separated from his home....it read "IDIOT PARKING ONLY'....sometimes I'm really tempted to do the same.

Maybe people with RV's have an odd sense of entitlement? I noticed one in a grocery store parking lot parked sideway taking up at least 4 parking spots one day. I had no choice but to park 3 spots away from the front of the RV. The guy actually got out and asked me to move my car after I had parked and was walking away from the car. I was in a major rush that day so I told him I would only be 10 minutes tops and he started acting up and whining so I walked back to my car to move it and he just kept up his whining so basically I ended up swearing at him and walking away. I can't tell you how gratifying that was because in no way did he deserve me doing any favours for him. I wondered why he thought someone died and made him God because he had an RV.

You should call the parking authority about that RV. Seems to me there are specific rules on those things being on the street in Calgary and for sure there is a limit. I know there is zero they do if they are parked on private property (like a driveway) but they can't be out on the road very long.

There is a house being built right beside them. So there is a bin but it is far away from their poperty line that they could park their car there. Even when it wasn't there they would park infront of our house. Grr. I am going to try the sprinkler idea... LOL! (evil grin).

There is a RV parked around the corner from a play ground zone on my block. I am going to call by-law soon because you can't see around the corner to see if there is any kids crossing the road. It has been parked there for two weeks now.

Arizona's right. Most municipalities have bylaws dictating how long you can park on the street - and sometimes regulating what kind of vehicles can be parked there.

I would be very much surprised if you couldn't get those RVs and motorhomes ticketed. I imagine you can also get cars ticketed pretty easily if they are crowding access to your own driveway.

I called to have a car towed out of my parking space once when I lived in a multi-unit apt. building.

We have a neighbour that has 3 cars which he pulls out and in to his driveway ... since he needs to wash them at least every two days.
And then, he parks his cars in front of our house in such a way that we have to struggle to back out and turn without hitting one of his 3 cars!!!! Drives me crazy. My husband tells me that he has the right to do that and not to make a big deal of it so I just shut up and steam a little. Glad to see I am not alone!:D

Gosh it must be wonderful to have so much free time to wash cars
There are usually by-laws that dictate how close you should park to a laneway for safety reasons. I usually give at least 4 feet. I remember a former neighbour regularly essentially blocked where I lived, preventing any comings or goings with no regard at all so I called the By-Law number and they were going to get a parking ticket and towed. It was worth it just to see him beg and plead with the By-Law Officer. It never happened again.

annoys me to no end. right now we have a lovely 3 tonne rusty white moving truck that gets parked there.
I agree with trying to park their yourselves as long as you don't mind your car getting wet from the wayward sprinkler:D

That's happened here when the trades people have been visiting so the neighbours were forced to park behind one another on their driveway but it means the dreadful switching of vehicles on their part so I understand why they do it.

Where is your imagination? How about that sprinkler of yours that over shoots the lawn and right onto the road/cars? I've heard you have one that is just out of control and you have no idea how that happened. A few soakings when they are trying to park or get into their car might have them rethink where to park. maybe your lawn mower has a glitch that throws cut grass out to the side? Too bad how when it's kind of wet it tends to stick to things. Better yet, park you car there for a while and see if they don' t break the habit.

Funny you should mention this because it's a major annoyance to me on a daily basis yet I thought I was being petty for saying anything. It actually interfers with the grass being cut next to the street. It just seems to me if you have 3 vehicles and a single driveway you might want to think about moving

Yes big time we have Campers and MotorHomes park in front of us because they are to cheap to pay for a camping spot to put their 200K machines. Bugs me every summer.

It bugs me too. We have the same problem with a house two doors down. BUT with four cars, I guess one has to park elsewhere...but it still bugs me.
