1 cup unbleached or all purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup quick cooking oats
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup butter or margarine
2 egg whites
1 tbsp 1% milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 package of president choice decadent chocolate chips
preheat oven to 375 degrees
coat 2 baking sheets with cooking spray or line with parchement paper
in a large bowl, combine white flour, whole wheat flour, oats, baking soda, and salt
in another large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, butter/margarine, egg whites, milk, and vanilla extract
add flour mixture and stir just until moistened
stir in chocolate chips
drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2'' apart on prepared baking sheets
bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges
remove cookies to racks to cool
makes 48 cookies
i just made these last nite...i've never made cookies with whole wheat flour...and i was amazed at how good they turned out...i put them in a plastic container last nite and they stayed chewy...you can also substitute the chocolate chips for raisins...the kids loved them

I also like whole wheat flour as it has a nice nutty flavour and using Splenda for the white sugar would cut the calories in the cookies even lower.
Chewy choc chips are my fave. I will print the recipe thanks jen.
Try whole wheat flour in date squares recipes too...........yummy.
another option is 3/4 whole wheat flour and 1/4 graham cracker crumbs. also yummy.
LOL...yup i'd say so...well with DH trying to loose weight,...i'm trying to make desserts for him to have after dinner so that he feels complete after dinner....each cookie has 77 calories...
