Handcrafted indigo and persimmon pillows and textiles look especially lovely in rustic, carved wooden chests.
"I've always been a huge fan of Indian and Indian-inspired textiles," says Courtney Barnes, designer and author of the popular Style Court blog. "Montreal's own Anu Swaminadhan is a contemporary designer producing exquisite hand-painted pillows, linens and accessories using a 3,000-year-old Kalamkari technique, in which natural dyes are painted on with a bamboo pen. I'm so drawn to the bold scale of her designs."
