Bedside Storage

Choose larger furniture.

"I prefer to use larger scale furniture, like dressers or consoles instead of traditionally designated 'nightstands'," explains Toronto designer and stylist Sabrina Linn. "Not only does this allow me greater selection of furniture to choose from, but it allows more space to creatively house and display all the things you want to keep bedside. I find most nightstands too small in scale to really serve the needs of such a highly functioning piece of furniture. Once you add a table lamp, books, water glass, reading glasses and iPad, there isn't enough room for much else. Adding a wall sconce is a great option if you want to free up even more valuable bedside tabletop real estate."
