Bright Brooklyn Home

Introduce modern furniture into a traditional space.

This 1886 Victorian home in Park Slope, Brooklyn is an example of the kind of space Emma Reddington of Toronto design blog The Marion House Book is attracted to. "The juxtaposition between ornate traditional details like the parquet floor and decorative mouldings, contrasted with the clean-lined furniture by Hans Wegner and BDDW, makes the home airy and light, yet still rooted in the past," Emma notes. "And how beautiful is that floor-to-ceiling Victorian console mirror?"
