Bathroom With Antiques
Repurpose an old cabinet as a vanity.
Sarah Richardson advises bargain hunters to search for vintage finds. "I love the authenticity and soul that comes along with any piece picked up at an auction, flea market, antique store or consignment shop," she says. "For a bathroom reno where dollars are in short supply, find a funky old piece that can be repurposed into a vanity. It will have more character than anything you'll find new, and will cost less. I found this old machine cabinet for $250, which I turned into a vanity for our cottage bathroom. It's not precious, it has oodles of storage, and it fits in with the casual mood of a country home far better than MDF."
