Cleverly Concealed Apartment Kitchen

Hide unsightly spaces with drapes.

Tommy Smythe, associate designer with Sarah Richardson Design and co-star of HGTV's Sarah's Cottage and Sarah's House, installed luxurious black drapery to conceal the dated kitchen in his former apartment, which he also used for storage. "The only nice things behind there are my clothes and dishes. Everything else is just functional, so I wanted to make it disappear," he says. "I can't do magic, so I made drapes."
