Dark Condo Powder Room

When the candles are lit and lights dimmed, this condo powder room is as sophisticated as it is sexy.

“We wanted our home to make us feel as good as we do when we travel — having that style and romance, but not leaving home to get it,” says Renee Metrick, owner, with husband Ken, of Toronto home and bath emporiums Elte and Ginger’s. Wood panelling gives the space the air of a private club: Stephen Wagg of Gluckstein Design Planning created a subtle checkerboard effect by separating squares of oak with a slim reveal. The polished- nickel washstand with marble top adds understated sparkle.
