Editor Paint Pick: Drawing Room Blue

A classic Victorian blue.

H&H's senior design editor Margot Austin is considering this deep hue for her weekend home in Tweed, Ontario. "I've been psyching myself up to paint the den in Farrow & Ball's Drawing Room Blue (253) for more than a year now," she admits. "This photo I took at the Hickory White showroom at the High Point Market sealed the decision. It's just the look I'm going for. I'll paint the entire room — trim, door and all — and maybe I'll start calling the den the drawing room." This jewel tone is a classic colour used in Victorian homes, so pair it with traditional furniture and tarnished antiques to complete the look.
