Eco-Conscious Kitchen

Ideas from a kitchen remodel with a green mandate.

Interested in an enviro-friendly kitchen? These handsome cabinets were made by a local manufacturer using formaldehyde-free plywood and recycled veneer with low-emission finishes. French doors feature Low-E glass, which heats the room in winter and blocks the sun's rays in summer. And finally, fluorescent light fixtures that have come a long way! They're dimmable, glow with warm indirect light and use only 156 watts.
