Quirky Wallpapered Living Room

Stacked logs offer visual interest in a recess.

Los Angeles interior designer Kishani Perera designed this Hollywood Hills home for a client who was struggling to furnish the oddly broken up rooms. This large room with permanent structural columns posed the trickiest space-planning challenge. To make the columns more of a feature than a drawback, Perera had them wrapped in distressed wood veneer. She then created a main seating area around the fireplace with a custom sofa, as well as a reading nook with a wingback chair in the corner.
