Living Room With Natural Textures

The scale of this room makes it ideal for entertaining.

In his own Sag Harbor estate, New York designer Steven Gambrel converted a 1964 garage addition into a spacious living room. "I designed the rug to align with the wide pine floor planks, reclaimed from an 18th-century house in Maine," he says. A woven armchair, natural lampshades and exposed wood beams add warmth and texture to the white-walled room.
