Low-Key Glamour

Luxe textures imbue elegance.

The living room of Francesca Connolly's Brooklyn brownstone was designed by architect Steven Harris and designer Lucien Rees Roberts. A vintage chandelier, one of a pair, hangs above a custom-made sofa, and the mantel is original. "Francesca's living room in Brooklyn Heights is a picture of understated elegance," says Julie Carlson. "The textures are luxurious (velvet, sheepskins, leather) but the vibe is low-key (no glitz here)."
