Indoor Plant Wall

An enviro alternative to art.

This East Village apartment in New York features a lush green wall that adds texture and colour to the urban space. "I first discovered vertical gardens through the work of French botanist Patrick Blanc," says Escapade blogger Sharalee Mushore. "Turning traditional gardening notions on their head, his innovative techniques moved plants from their conventional horizontal gardens on the ground to vertical walls indoors. I've started to see similar projects in local buildings and beautiful homes since, and love this new eco trend. Living in a small space in a big city, it's easy to feel a little disconnected from nature at times — what better cure than to bring it inside?"
