This simple craft brings a touch of autumn to your tabletop.
Materials and Tools
- Gourds
- Sharp knife
- Spoon or melon baller
- Paper towel
- Salt
- Pepper
Step 1
Buy two inexpensive, richly coloured gourds.
Step 2
Use a sharp knife to cut the gourds in half, then hollow out with a melon baller or spoon.
Step 3
Cut a notch in the side of the gourd to hold a demitasse or salt spoon.
Step 4
Dry with paper towel, then heap one with salt and the other with pepper.
Note: Gourds should last for three or four days before starting to shrivel.
