This simple craft brings a touch of autumn to your tabletop.
Materials and Tools
- Sharp knife
- Spoon or melon baller
- Paper towel
Buy two inexpensive, richly coloured gourds.
Use a sharp knife to cut the gourds in half, then hollow out with a melon baller or spoon.
Cut a notch in the side of the gourd to hold a demitasse or salt spoon.
Dry with paper towel, then heap one with salt and the other with pepper.
Note: Gourds should last for three or four days before starting to shrivel.
