When it comes to renovations in 2011, the cliché is true; everything old is new again. Well, almost everything. It's the year of the comeback for beloved materials of the past, like blond wood floors and travertine in bathrooms. The basement's also making a return as our favourite place to spend a cosy evening. But because a little revival goes a long way, we're also looking forward to seamlessly integrated high-tech systems that make us feel like we're living in the future and kitchens that look custom-made but come without the high cost.
