Open-Concept Living
Layer materials and use furniture settings to create living zones within an open plan.
"Large open plans are wonderful, but can be very tricky," warns Hassam. "Its challenging to create comfortable settings for gathering and activities without feeling cluttered or in a distracting environment. In this space we were able to create three zones within one large space for an open kitchen, dining area near the deck and comfortable seating area in the family room. Each setting feels like it has its own distinct place and character in proximity to the other areas without feeling compromised."
