Arren's fireplace went from stodgy to sleek with a coat of white paint and some inexpensive subway tiles. A white chandelier became a great focal point above the red leather Series 7 chairs. "I painted the chandelier white, cut back the sparkle, replaced the pointy bulbs with clear round ones and added a ceiling medallion," he says.
