Refined Rural Farmhouse
Plush bedding and carpet in watery hues create a soothing atmosphere.
At over 170 years old, this home has a lot of history. When the current homeowners purchased the property in 2007, they embarked on a careful expansion of the house with an eye for preserving the original stone house and its rustic charm. A new addition carefully ties into the original structure while bringing a modern sensibility to the space. A palette of pale blues, creamy whites and warm wood tones creates a serene feeling throughout the home. In the principal bedroom, these creamy colours play into the room's atmosphere of calm. The homeowners had the cypress ceiling pickled to accentuate the height and to tone down the orange, while French doors flood the room with light and lead to private gardens.
