Alpaga Hotel in France
An alpine ski resort forgoes log-cabin clichés for a new take on mountain style.
The new 22-room Alpaga hotel and lodge near the famous ski-resort town of Megève, France, will warm the hearts of those seeking style beyond the slopes. Open since last winter, its grey pine walls, black-framed picture windows and blond-wood furniture feel as urbane as any world-class boutique hotel. Sleeping quarters are decked out with a cosy mix of nubbly linen, faux fur and leather.
