Wait For The Right Temperature
Eight degrees celsius is the perfect time to remove protective garden mulch.
While mulch keeps the soil hidden from the sun, it also acts as a blanket, protecting tiny buds from frost. Sweep mulch off too early in the spring and you may inadvertently expose plants to a cold snap. Once temperatures reach a steady eight degrees during the day, it's safe to remove this protective blanket.
