Rustic White Staircase
Light flooring and walls brighten up a basement.
Designed by New York-based Steven Gambrel, this room demonstrates both simple beauty and attention to detail. "I love that he didn't treat this space as a conventional basement," says Linn. "Beautiful overscaled art reflects light and adds sophistication. A pair of dramatic hanging lanterns also play with scale. A vintage stage light and trio of interesting vessels on the landing provide the finishing touches to the whitewashed space."
