Small Yet Functional Backyard
A raised stone terrace makes for easy entertaining.
Despite the small footprint of this urban yard, landscape architect Ron Holbrook divided the space into three "rooms": a deck for barbecuing (closest to the house, not shown), a terrace for dining and green space for gardening and playing. If you opt for a larger dining table, keep the rest of the terrace uncluttered like the homeowners did here.
