Bentwood Chairs
This recognizable classic still graces café patios around the world.
Entering production in 1859, Michael Thonet's Model No. 14 café chair was made of beech wood steamed and bent into shape. With its double-hooped backrest and circular seat, this famous piece's look is delicate and feminine, yet blends seamlessly with most decor styles. Thonet designed many variations — most of which are still around today.
