Rooftop Urban Garden

Turn your roof into a gardening oasis.

"This is a recent photo taken of the containers that stretch the back wall of my roof garden," says Gayla Trail, founder of the popular blog, You Grow Girl, and author of Grow Great Grub. "Even small gardens can be chaotic, especially since there are no places to hide the soil, tools, seedlings, and little in-progress messes that a shed, basement, or behind-the-garage space can provide. Until everything is planted for the season, this wall is serving as my calm inside the storm. It holds a mix of beautifully scented plants, edibles, and non-edible favorites that nourish my eyes rather than my stomach."
