Rubble Garden

Hidden gardens abound in city alleyways.

"Toronto’s alley system is the best way to make shortcuts through the city and avoid traffic, whether walking or riding a bike," says Gayla Trail, founder of the popular blog, You Grow Girl, and author of Grow Great Grub. "There is always some small pleasure or surprise to find, including secret gardens tucked behind garages and utility poles. This garden bed, constructed from crumbling concrete and broken bricks, is just one of several that I have found in my travels around town."
