Rustic & Casual Dining Room

Cameron MacNeil transforms a 1980s cottage into a beautifully cosy weekend home.

Karen Kain — artistic director of The National Ballet of Canada — and her husband Ross Petty enlisted Cameron to revamp their lakeside cottage. In the dining area, Cameron chose rough wood pieces in classic styles to complement the bench Karen and Ross picked out. Cheery blue and white prints, including a cushion custom fit to the bench, create an inviting place to enjoy morning tea. Fresh white walls and bold striped kilim balance the casual distressed wood of the table, bench and chairs. The simple glass pendants keep the mood light.
