Recycled storage pieces, industrial stairs and an open island inject character.
"I adore kitchens that are created using pieces of furniture or anything that can be found in salvage yards," says Kim Johnson, co-author of the popular Desire to Inspire blog. "It makes for such a casual and somewhat unexpected space. The stairs are quite an architectural feature here as well, and they help keep the space open and light-filled."
