The Jenn-Air® 30" Wall Oven was the inspiration for these concept kitchens by leading Canadian designers. Learn how each of them selected the right appliance finish to suit their kitchen's look.
1. Scandinavian Farmhouse-Style Kitchen
The Designer: Sophie Burke, Sophie Burke Design (Vancouver)
Her Inspiration: The Jenn-Air® 30" Single Wall Oven in Euro-Style Stainless
Her Kitchen: Sophie wanted the sleek stainless steel surface of the oven to stand out against banks of clean, white cabinetry and ceiling-height subway tile. She then added rustic touches, including a butcher block countertop, a reclaimed wood table and wide-plank floors. Eames chairs and a pair of oversized red Jieldé pendants emphasize the mid-century modern vibe.
2. Industrial Rustic Kitchen
The Designers: Alexandre Blazys and Benoit Gérard, Blazysgerard (Montreal)
Their Inspiration: The Jenn-Air® 30" Double Wall Oven in Floating Black Glass
Their Kitchen: Alexandre and Benoit were inspired by modern gastropub style. This kitchen exudes warmth: Richly stained cabinets are edged in metal and topped with elegant honed-marble countertops. Cookbooks and a fireplace add to the restaurant-at-home vibe, and the large-capacity double wall oven is ideal for entertaining.
3. Ultramodern Glam Kitchen
The Designer: Allison Granovsky, Palmerston Design Consultants (Toronto)
Her Inspiration: The Jenn-Air® 30" Single Wall Oven in Floating White Glass
Her Kitchen: Allison designed her streamlined kitchen (pictured above) around two white Jenn-Air® wall ovens, which she placed side by side. Their high-gloss finish mimics the automobile-like sheen found in the white upper and lower cabinets. For contrast, Allison chose ebony-stained chevron wood floors and a jet-black countertop. The feature wall above the sink is clad in mosaic tiles, with a slender display niche for dishes and a double-arm, wall-mounted light fixture.
