Trend: Gingham

Indulge in this nostalgic pattern on ribbons, accent pillows and more.

It's the season to channel your inner June Cleaver and get into gingham. A charming reminder of halcyon days, it's also a welcome visual antidote to the go-go culture of faster, sooner. Just a hint of the print is enough to evoke simple pleasures. Wide ribbons conjure pert school-girl bows, while a bottle of South African shiraz riffs on the look of old-school jam jars. La Plates' checked and monogrammed melamine plates seem to scream for a pile of frosted cupcakes. Clip up some inspirational images with patterned clothespins, then catch a quick 40 winks on a Hästens' swish new gingham bed and dream of homemade cherry pie cooling on a windowsill.
