A casual family kitchen with simple white walls.
Tara Lawrence of New Brunswick was a runner-up in our 2009 Design Contest. For her kitchen remodel, the biggest challenge during the transformation was living in the house while the kitchen was being redone. "We had a makeshift kitchen in our dining room, but when it all came together, it was worth it." Tara wanted a casual, timeless space where her family could relax. Island-height stools allow for catching up while dinner is being prepared, and a fun blackboard can be used for phone messages or reminders for grocery lists.
