Easy sides and desserts from the Canadian cookbook author, Globe & Mail columnist and teacher.
Lucy Waverman has had another busy year with the release of her fifth book, A Year In Lucy's Kitchen (2009 Random House Canada), which follows up on Lucy's Kitchen. The new book offers recipes for every month of the year, from summer picnic dishes to comforting winter desserts. Plus, there's a real focus on farmer's markets, healthy eating and holiday recipes. Switch up your usual Thanksgiving side dishes for these green beans with a kick, for example, or try a winter vegetable stir-fry. Christmas and dinner party guests will also love these surprisingly easy Empire shortbread cookies. Bon appétit!
