
Savour seasonal apples in this easy fall dessert.
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup butter, cut in chunks
1/3 cup oatmeal
1 tsp cinnamon
6 apples, peeled, cored*
* When baking with apples, select apples with firm flesh, such as Rome Beauty, Cortland and Granny Smith.
Step 1: Combine all ingredients except apples and process in a mixer until crumbly.
Step 2: Slice apples. Place in a greased 9" square or 10" round pie plate.
Step 3: Sprinkle crumb mixture over apples.
Step 4: Bake at 375°F for 35-40 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream.
Makes 6 to 8 servings
