A great recipe for outdoor entertaining, make these flavourful crab cakes next time you fire up the barbecue.
1 lb. fresh lump crab meat
2 slices of white bread, crusts removed and cut into small cubes
1 egg, beaten
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small red onion, finely chopped
3 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1-1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp "Old Bay" or Cajun seasoning
1 tsp dry mustard
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp freshly ground black pepper
2 lemons, cut into wedges
Tartar sauce
Step 1: Gently combine all ingredients in a medium bowl. Form mixture into 4-5 patties and place in a shallow dish, cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before grilling.
Step 2: Preheat grill for medium-high heat.
Step 3: Place patties on lightly oiled grill. Cook for 10 minutes, flip and cook for about another 7-8 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from grill and serve immediately with lemon wedges and tartar sauce.
