Julia Reed's Scotch Old-Fashioned Recipe - House & Home

Swap out traditional rye whiskey for scotch in this Mississippi-based cocktail.

Yield:
1 serving
Ingredients:

1 large strip of Meyer lemon or orange peel, scraped to remove as much pith as possible
1 sugar cube, preferably La Perruche brand
3 - 4 dashes of Fee Brothers orange bitters
3 - 4 dashes of Fee Brothers Old Fashioned Aromatic Bitters
3 oz Scotch
1 orange slice

Instructions:

Step 1: In a rock glass, muddle the peel, sugar cube and bitters with 2 tsp cold water.

Step 2: Swirl to make sure the liquid coats the glass.

Step 3: Add ice and the Scotch, stir well and garnish with the orange slice.
