Southern Chocolate Pecan Pie Brownies Recipe
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F.
Step 2: Line a 13″ x 9″ metal baking pan with foil (to allow you to easily lift out the brownies), and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 3: Remove pie from wrapping and discard paper circle. Let thaw at room temperature for 2 hours.
Step 4: Place chocolate chips and butter in a large microwave-safe glass bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir and microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth. Let cool slightly.
Step 5: Using an electric mixer on low speed, beat sugar, eggs and milk into chocolate mixture until blended.
Step 6: Cut pie in half and break one half into about 6 pieces. Add broken pieces to chocolate mixture. Add flour and baking powder. Beat on low until just blended.
Step 7: Cut the remaining pie half into 1″ chunks. Using a wooden spoon, stir into batter (batter will be thick). Spread in prepared baking pan.
Step 8: Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes. Let cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares.
