Tourtiere Meat Pie Recipe

Recipe:

Step 1: Place ground pork, ground beef, onions, garlic, salt, pepper, cloves, and allspice into large pot with enough water to cover 3/4 of the ingredients. Over medium heat, simmer, stirring frequently, for about 30 minutes until meat has browned. Adjust seasonings as desired.

Step 2: Preheat oven to 425°F. Line two 9″ pie plates with pie pastry. Spoon 1/2 of filling into each crust and cover with top pastry. Place a small funnel of brown paper in centre of each pie to allow steam to escape.

Step 3: Bake for 10 minutes, then lower heat to 375°F for about 30 minutes or until pie is golden brown. Serve warm.
