We bought a reel lawn mower at Canadian Tire a few weeks ago. It's freakin' awesome. The best thing is, no more stupid cord to get tangled in the flower beds and around trees. And considering the price of gas, who wants to have to buy gas to run a lawnmower?? Not to mention the environmental impact of using gas or electricity to mow the lawn.

My Dh came home the other day with a reel mower. I took a fit because he is 70 yrs. old. Thought it would be to hard for him to push.AND it cost over 2000.00 dollars. Couldn't believe it.
After seeing how great it worked and how quiet it is ,had to eat my words and apologize for my small outburst lol. :)

I just bought a reel mower on Saturday at Lee Valley & love it! Now I can actually mow the lawn where our gas powered mower I couldn't start it or turn it!

Reel mowers are perfect for the nice flat lawns that most people get in the burbs.

Unfortunately - a reel mower isn't a practical option for me. My lawn area is too uneven - and I have a lot of rough to cut in the road allowance next to my yard. Sigh...

You should hook up the Husky and see if he would like to pull the thing while you just steer. He might like that job.

I don't find the reel mower is any harder to push than our electric mower. In fact, I find I can mow faster with it because I'm not always having to stop to readjust or move the %^%!##@# cord out of the way :)

DS#3 told us this weekend he is sending me back the cheque I sent him to buy a lawn mower and he is buying a reel mower. He bought the gas mower and brought it home and says he feels silly at the thought of using it on his postage stamp size yard. Besides he thinks he can use the excerise.
