okay people....removing wallpaper from plaster walls SUCK!!!...I wanted to paint over the wallpaper but NOOOOO...this forum waves their finger with a tisk..tisk.....so I have attempted to do it right like Mike Holmes says...BUT I can't take it anymore.....I am re-adding wallpaper....beadboard paintable wallpaper........what do you think so far?....what is your opinions about doing the whole room with this wallpaper?.......the section that I did was out of necessity...the walls were quite damaged and would require a skim.......I spent 10 hours removing and 1/2 hour adding the new paper.......I hope my forum friends agree to my solution!!! :D

There is nothing wrong with adding new wallpaper, the paintable stuff is absolutely for jobs such as this. You are sizing the walls first though right?

So you have the wainscotting, what are you thinking of for the upper parts?

As for removing, warm water is a really good friend when attempting such things. The more the better and easier it makes it for a scraper to get the wall clean of paper.

Cat, why did you take all that plaster down? Was something wrong with it?

This is exactly why wallpaper scares me and if I were buying a home I would request the existing owners remove the wallpaper in the offer.
I would just keep at it until it's done, don't put a timetable on the finish date. It will be done when it's done. You won't ever have to do it in that room ever again. If the room is on the chilly side you might do as the previous poster did and add more insulation at the same time but that is a lot of work and extra expense too although the results would be worth it.
I don't envy you but don't give up, stay the course, don't be a quitter. Play inspirational music and treat yourself to something special after each session. Ask some friends over to help out and make it more of a social thing.

Here is a 'in process' photo.

We had to renovate all our bedrooms upstairs in this house. They all had plaster walls. We pulled down all the plaster ourselves and redrywalled oursleves. A long process and loads of dust (controlled), but worth it. We had to do the ceilings too.
Otherwise redrywall over the plaster wall, and paint or wallpaper on that clean smooth surface.
