My husband and I are on vacation next week with no where to go, so we're going to do local tourist things..
We want to go to the 1000 islands and do a cruise, which one do you recommend specifically? Is it worth going into the castle or is sailing around good enough? I'm looking at the Rockport Boat line right now. Is a long cruise with lunch and 2 castles too much (also $s) or a 2 hour sightseeing cruise is better? any thoughts?
Also, we want to spend a day in cobourg and port perry. Any recommendations as to what to do there?
We're both more slow paced, relaxed, don't really want a crazy jam packed day. A leisurely walk, lunch, that kind of thing.
Somewhere in there we're going to take care of a sick cat and build a shed!
thanks

we took our cruises from the kingston area or gananoque....we did the castle cruise, the one hour and the two hour...we enjoyed all of them. As for Cobourg...if you want to relax go to Victoria Park....they have a nice beach,( at least when i was there last) it is a big park and free to anyone.....they have grass area to lounge around on or you can go to the sand area and take a stroll along the beach. I believe Victoria Park has their own website...take a peek!
have a great time

We were tourists there last summer. Just stopped there because that's where we were when it was time to stop. For the life of us, neither can remember where we ate but know it was good. My travel notebook is in storage for another month. We took the 2 hour cruise. I know it was a nice day and we enjoyed it. As I recall we felt we saw enough but then we were covering a lot of space in a restricted amount of time.
Blue Heron Charity Casino!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah jenjen, we did that at night. I probably left some coin there just for you. ;)
Condogirl/Redwinediva...
Is that the place where the cinnamon buns look more like a log and are in plastic bags....I am pretty sure that's the place I have been too....they also have an eatery......and was near the liquor store ( same side) but the bakery is on the main road and the liquor store was behind....oh the memories........we had to stay at my -inlaws cottage for 4 months when our current home was being built so I went into town a lot.......and the beach...forget it...it always seems to be closed....but the pizza shop across from the tennis courts/beach was a good place....... :D
OMG I cnat belive I forgot hanks!!!! I will have to have my dad bring me some cinimon buns this weekend oh how I miss them!!!
I can't believe you didn't mention Hank's! to die for cinnamon buns and bread, fruit bread/cherry bread, eccles cakes and date cookies, CARROT cake and a bazillion other tidbits to nibble and nosh too... THUD.. can you tell I haven't been lately ... There are some great little shops along that main strip like condo mentioned ... it's worth the day! Enjoy!

Well I grew up in Port Perry, soooo I have a few ideas of what to do there.. LOL
You can take a boat curise of the lake, my dad went on it and siad it was great... The main Street (queen street) there are lots and lots of great home stores, and a great candy store. OH and dont miss Dana's jelwery store she has some really nice things in there, she will also make custom things. Lets see there is a great little italian resturant on Highway 7 just east of Simcoe Street... I cant rmember the name of it for the life of me. For a great lunch spot there is a little place on the corner of Queen and Water Street (just south of queen on water street) its a cute little tea house kind of place. Other than that there is always the casino out on the island.
There is also a little beach, right in town by the ball feilds, but I woudlnt suggest going swimming in the lake its ICKY!!!!
