Why not leave the kids with GP and you 2 go to the Cottage for a weekend alone. That to me would be an ideal ann. time together no TV not Phone just the 2 of you.
Grandparents' cottage for the kids sounds like a plan! Your 10th definitely deserves some "couple time".
thanks Cracka...i will definetly look into that...just in case
I believe that children are allowed to stay in the hotel but they need to 19 to enter the gaming floor.
www.dicoverniagara.com go online and you can double check. There is a 1-800 number listed on the website
my parents usually go up north to their cottage every weekend in the summer and my kids love it there....maybe i could arrange on a weekend that they are going up...my kids would love to go up without us...lol...thanks for suggestion mdesign...as i read you suggestion the lil lite above my head went off...''oh ya the cottage''...lol
parents or in-laws will take your kids, maybe they can plan an extra-special outing so the kids have a treat to look forward to, as well - something the kids have really been wanting to do and normally wouldn't have the chance?
thank you marma...i can't believe it's been 10 years already...time flies when you're havin' fun...he love the ''Leafs" and hockey...we have a whole wall in our basement dedicated to hockey...lol....we have a few autoed jerseys...but the hockey thing might be a good idea....thanks a bunch marma
hmmm....he's gotta like sports, right?
When in doubt I get my honey anything related to his favourite sports hockey and soccer ...or as I usually call it a bunch of junk for his "boy's room"!
I've gotten autographed pictures, souvenirs, jerseys and once even found a collection of retro Team Canada hockey pics in a vintage shop.....he's still worshipping me to this day for that one! lol
Good Luck and have fun!!

i'm not sure how long the bribe would last...my kids have the attention span of a gnat sometimes...but i'm thinking as long as my 7 year old (his brother) is with him it might not be so bad...
can you bribe him? (your 4-year-old, I mean)
thanks...i was thinking that....it's nice to get a guys opinion....my only problem is my 4 year old...i know my 7 year old would have no problem staying overnite at my parents or in-laws place...but i think my 4 year wouldn't be so co-operative....he's kinda attached to me...lol
You want a guys opinion? Try the trip to NF without the kids.
Dawn...he really doesn't get much time to himself...hobbies...other than going to the casino once in awhile...he really doesn't have any...yes he's boring sometimes...he hates reading...hates it even more when i read...says i'm ignoring him...lol...he really can't wear jewelry cuz when his hands get full of grease or diesel on them he loses jewelry...yes he has lost his wedding ring several times...he has a John Deere that he loves to tinker with...keeps him busy cutting the 3 acres of grass we have...electronic gadgets i'm not sure what kind he would like....ahhhhhhhhh.....maybe i'll just get some lingerie (??sp) or some saran wrap....lol
-what are his hobbies, when he has time to himself?
-what does he read?
-does he like jewelry?
-how does he enjoy the yard, if he does: BBQ, new fancy lawnmower...?
-is there an electronics gadget of some kind that he might like?

kids stay in the casino hotel?...i was thinking of that already but i'm not sure about it...i know you have to be 18 to enter the spa and obviously the casino...no he doesn't golf...the spa thing for him sounds good...not sure if he would be up to it though...although secretly he might like it...model truck...OMG i don't need anymore around my house...between him and my 2 boys...there are trucks everywhere...i keep explaining to them that they cannot be part of my decor.....lol
You should definitely stay at the hotel within the Casino. Why not pamper him with something he would never expect like a massage or a pedicure, facial. Although guys never admit to it they love it just as much as women.
The views are the most spectacular from the 08 room on floors 20 and above
what about a model truck....some nice ones are made in peuter (sp.) and are collectables.
Does he golf? how about private lessons or a round at an exclusive course?
There are the 1/2 or full day race car driving experiences set up where he takes a few lessons then goes out in a real race car on a track
crazy gift for guys....xbox or play station and a couple cool games
there are many packages for men at spas that are full day.. always enjoyable for guys secure in that environment
I'll try to think of more....
like heights...lol...he freaks out...as for something for his desk...he doesn't have an office job...he a trucking manager...i have never had so much trouble thinking of something for him....i guess this time i want it to be really special...he has been putting up with me for 10 years now y'know...lol...i'll keep thinking...but if you have anymore suggestions...keep 'em coming...i think i'm gonna need them
Not knowing your budget I suggested the others, but why not while you are in Niagara Falls treat him to a helicopter ride.
Tough one, as I also struggle to find gifts for my DH.
But one year I surprised him with a Microlite flight. He didn't know where I was driving him to, until we were at the hanger. I stayed on the ground and took many photos. He had a such a thrill and talks about it to this day. Of course I could have gone up at the same time as him, but I chickened out!
You still have many days to do research for something he would like. Listen to things he talks about or reads about on the internet. I am sure there are some clues.
on a cruise...it was a surprise for him until we reached the ship. Of ocurse, he figured it out then.:D
idea is a tin(metal) paperweight for the office. A beer stein, a wine frig. a metal fire pit for the patio.
A hammock.
I think "tin" is for a 10th. Maybe a tin frame with a photo of the kids for his office. I guess it does not have to be tin per say, but metal.
What are his hobbies?
