18" vanity...

Hello,
I'm new to this! Does anyone have any tips for a narrow bathroom that only has space for a 18" deep vanity? It's 30" wide. We’re especially having trouble finding a small enough sink. It's a full bath with a clawfoot tub, but we want a more contemporary look. As you enter the bathroom, the sink and radiator are on the left and the tub and toilet are on the right. There’s a window straight ahead.

Thanks!
Jessie

I have a client who bought one of their 'floating glass vessel sinks' to fit an area that is 17" wide. Very cool indeed.

Hi all,
Thanks for your ideas...i think we need more space than pedestal will allow.. and the man hates the belly sink with cabinet... We did find a narrow sink FYi- Crane makes one (Sonnet) and Kohler has 2 avble at Home Depot (Ellington and Serif). Both are about 16.5" deep.
Cheers!

Today i saw a very narrow vanity in Rona's with a molded top and sink the sink extended out at the front but the vanity was only 12". It was nice but a little pricey $375. for the vanity and $ 185. for the top.

I remember walking past a small vanity/sink. It was on sale for $99. Also try Home Hardware. I saw one there too. I can't swear these are shallow enough for you but you could take a look.

We have a narrow bathroom too. We used an 18" deep vanity with a 1-piece cultured marble top - the pics are on the album site - here is the link

My parents needed a small sink (they call it their 'Tim Hortons sink") for the cottage and were unable to find one down here in Mississauga but had some luck up in cottage country. I guess there is more of a demand for smaller sinks to put in the small bathrooms of cottages. Not sure where you are located but you might try that type of area if you can.

Hi, we had a couple of problems like this and we are just finishing our 3rd bathroom. We went to a plumbing speciality shop called Andrew Sherwins. The service was excellent and they found everything odd thing that we needed. More expensive, but totally worth it. Also, for our main bath, we had the vanity built by a carpenter at half the price of what you would find in hardware stores. Do you have any plumbing speciality shops near you? Good luck. Looking fwd to seeing the results. Dawn

Baby Kent and Baby Berlin are always good options!! 24"w x 19"d
Give it a more contemporary look with a crisp white vessel - Bates and Bates "Clarita" or American Standard "Petal" or "Morning"
Throw an antiequa rug down et voila - Sophisticated and elegant bathroom style.

work here HawleyBerry? Considering the clawfoot tub, it would be a nice compliment don't you think?

What are the dimensions on the baby Kent?

Not sure where you are located but, Tubs has a great selection of vanities. 18" can be tricky, as for the sink Kohler "Compass" round sink small enough to use as an undermount - Bates and Bates "teri" oval sink which will still be small enough for an undermount in an 18" vanitiy.
Try tubs.com

I don't know a lot about sinks, but could you mount one into a vanity so it uses the depth? I guess it would be mounting it sideways in essence with the taps in some position either above the sink or to the side or corner.

Have you checked out bath shops to see what they may be able to get from suppliers? They must make smaller sinks etc. for bars and small spaces like trailers, boats and such. Or maybe it's looking for someone who can adapt something or make you something custom from ceramics or metals or glass?

Otherwise I'm guessing your forget a counter/vanity and use some form of pedistal sink and find a way to incorporate some shelving or something else for counter top things you need.

a narrow table/chest with a vessel sink? I'm not sure but I think you can get them smaller than regular sinks and it would keep with a contemporary feel.
