My first bearded iris of the season is about to open, and as usual I'm pretty excited about it. I love watching the garden take flight each year. It's a purple one, but I don't know the name as it was something planted by previous owners. Of my roses, it looks like Mr. Lincoln is in the lead this year. I'll have my first gorgeous, fragrant red rose any day now.
