Has anyone ever been to the Aberfoyle flea market? If you haven't, go there and you'll have fun looking at all kinds of stuff....it's an open flea market in an open field. They have new, old and antique stuff. We bought our old Singer sewing machine from there and DH refinished it and we have it as an accent table in the hallway.

I don't know when it opens again but would think pretty soon, maybe next month.

May 6th is the opening one for the season...I checked the website yesterday and I think i will be there. I LOVE antiqueing (sp?). I am currently looking for a sofa table...I'm seriously thinking of making one because all the ones I find are too fancy for me. I'd like one that is either nouveau (I know thats more of a dream than anything) or arts and crafts OR made of old wood and architectural detail..like brackets and such. Maybe I'll luck out, but if not I'm sure it will be loads of fun to just browse. I'm really excited I've lived in this area for years and have never heard of it before.

I was just looking on the Flamboro Flea Market website and noticed that they are open only on specific dates. Since someone said that Flamboro and Aberfoyle are the same one, I remember going to the Aberfoyle flea market and they were open on Sundays. I'm  Can someone clarify this for me please. Thanks. :)

when we lived inToronto I loved the flea market! There's a couple espisodes of Room Service where Sarah Richardson was at the market buying stuff for clients. it's just a great relaxing day out in the sun for some country air.

PS if you are inclinded - Rattle Snake Point is a beautiful place to go for a walk. Cost about $6 to get into the park but the views off the cliff are great. There are usually hawks flying over the valley that are great to watch. I get caught up watching them glide. Bring comfortable shoes.
