i found that if i leave my LR window open which are on the south side of the house...we get a lot of breeze and fresh air...i prefer to have the windows open anyways...last house DH used to get pissed all the time when i would shut the air off and open all the windows

You folks sure don't live on the Avalon! This is the third day in a row that St John's has been fogged in. And when the fog is in it's more likely you'll hear the furnace than the A/C! Damn stuff. Fog always peels about 10 degrees off the temp. So while the main part of the island is comfortable in 18-20 degree weather, we in the SE of the province are only getting up to about 8!! It's been warmer in Labrador!! Grrrrrrrrr.

Our house is very open concept and airy, plus it's all hardwood on the main floor. So we really didn't need AC last summer and I'm hoping we can get away without it this summer too. We're buying one of those special sliding screens to go over the front door, so we can leave the front door open without the bugs coming in. Otherwise, we just leave the windows and back door open and that's usually enough.

Ask me how I feel about this in a few weeks time. We're having a ton of kids (and their parents) over for my son's 6th bday party - he's a social butterfly so lots of friends! I'm hoping for a cool day, just in case!

ac. I've been enjoying the open window! At night, I'm falling asleep to the sound of the loons!

Relaxing!

Ours has been on but it is set with the furnace to cut in if the house gets over 76 so it sue is nice to have it cool down. Looking forward to a nice comfortable summer.

not yet foxxy but likely soon....i dont find our house to bad....my fingers are a like little sausages but when the humidity gets worse they become big sausages lol, then the ac will have to be on, which is a pain for hubby because it goes in the window...unfortunately we dont have central air...but it still does the job pretty good
