Thank you DBD - just my luck the town I'm going to doesn't have Home Depot or Rona, although if I have a little extra time I do pass one on the way, or I'll have to wait a few more weeks, but it helps to know where to look.

I love my 2" angle brushes - DH thinks it's funny how precious they are to me. When I couldn't find that round brush at BM I bought myself a new 2" angle - first new one in many years because I buy good ones then take good care of them so they last.

That brush I mentioned is sold at both Rona and Home Depot. I didn't notice it when I dropped in a General Paint or BM store.

Most of these "gizzmos" are IMO pretty useless. I use a good quality 2" angle brush & a steady hand. The trick to perfect edging is not to load too much paint on the brush & gently push the paint up against the trim. I'm also still looking for the brush DBD recommended.

Yes that's on my list to try. I checked the last time I was at the BM store in the next town but they didn't have them (I have a bunch of smaller ones) but next week I'll be around some different paint stores so I will check there too.

I stand by that brush I mentioned a few weeks ago, the pointy one that looks like a large artist's brush. I love that for edging. None of the other doodads I've tried (and I think I've tried most of them) has worked as well for me as that pointy brush.

I've had the same experience in the past, that's why I thought I'd ask if anyone had tried this one. The piece that protects the side wall, or trim. actually moves out of the way to load the roller, then snaps back. I have my doubts too, just because I have a habit of trying all the "new toys" and none of them have ever been great. I love it that they are always trying to reinvent the paintbrush though - lol.

The best one that I've tried is the "paint pad". I still use that sometimes - it just has to stay really clean.

I wouldn't bother. I find those things with the plastic edges just get paint on them and then they leave it all over the wall they were supposed to protect. Really, how do you keep the paint off it? I'm afraid I can't see the video for some reason so how you get the paint on the thing would be my question.
