today was a banner day. An electrician came and turned my lights back on (remember the ghost turned them off in June...all this time with extension cords). Anyway, turns out the stupid ghost loosened one of the connections on the light I installed. Pretty uncreative if you ask me but I guess there's no accounting for those on the other side.
On that count it has become painfully apparent that I have expanded my dustbunny protection areas as well as creating new habitats for other assorted fluffies and furballs who have taken up residence. It's so bright in here now, why I can read and everything.
While the electrician was here I thought I'd better ask what he charges (never thought of it prior to his arrival) and when he told me 2 hours min. I went charging around and found my office ceiling fan from the old house, some other fixtures I had stashed and he got everything up with time to spare. He also did a minor assessment/estimate of my electrical so when I sell I won' t get snowed by anyone who notices my electrical panel is full and should be expanded.
As for lightbulb moments...sometimes the obvious is just too far out in space for me to figure out. I borrowed a monitor a while back and have always struggled with how dark it is. Tonight if actually dawned on me that there was a brightness button. Major doh! I'll have to go back now and see what the mock ups look like with the screen set properly.

Most of the pictures I lightened I could barely see on this monitor. Funny thing was the rest of the stuff I saw on the screen didn't look unusual (since I like dark colours I was just appreciating the tones of the websites and here they weren't that dark at all...). I had reset the factory setting button option on the monitor a few times as there were no brightness controls on the main menu, but for some reason, in all this time, it just never dawned on me that the monitor being so dark was even all that far off. I don't know what I was thinking (it's not like I haven't had it drilled into my head to calibrate my monitor regularly) but as soon as I got to turn on the overhead lights yesterday I noticed the tiny brighteness indicator on the bottom of monitor. I'm sure I might have noticed it if I'd just looked, but no. I guess it takes sitting and stareing at the monitor more than 10 hours a day to notice one of 3 indicators on the silly thing.
Anyway, last night I spent some time going back and looking at all of the pictures and now realize some people must have thought I was a little nuts. Oh well, it won't be the first time that has happened.
Is this why you keep lightening up all the mock ups? haha Actually they are much better on my monitor too. Thanks for being so creative. Good tip about asking the electrician his fee and getting the most for your time.
