Hello there,

I am new to this forum and a proud new home owner. I just purchased a town house and will start renovation in early May. I will have a few contractors coming over for a quote in the next few weeks. Am I expected to provide food and drinks during the renovation? A friend told me that if I want them to do a quality job I'd better. What do you think? Is this an unspoken common courtesy?

Thanks and have a great Friday!

Hi there! Welcome aboard. :)

My husband and I have gone through two major renovations and the contractors have always brought their own food. We always have cold water bottles on hand for them (which not only is easier for clean up, but minimizes the chance of glasses breaking in an already hectic environment). Seems to have worked well each time.

There were a few times when we were making coffee at home and offered them as well, but usually, they were just happy to have the cold water (especially during our summer renovation).
