Well you might as well give Mr. Sweatpea a big 'hi' if he's keeping an eye on us.

I deleted the picture I had of the other table .It is now in the pool room taking up space
If I put it back I can put the new one in the hallway the only thing is it won't look as nice there as you will only be able to see the side of it because it will be facing the spare bedroom. OH WELL! I guess I can't complain if this is the only concern I have. :o Iwill decide tomorrow on what to do.

no way, i like the lamps better.....im sure you wouldnt have another spot for that table, it needs to come to my house :biglol: do you have a pic of the other table you had there, if you put that one back, where would you put this little beauty.....big question is, do you like the two lamps on it....if you do, that is what matters.....i still think it looks nice

Janet; Here are the candles without a lamp:laugh: I'm thinking I should put the old table back and put this new one somewhere else because the old table held the lamps well and I do need lamps in the entrance. :)

Flowerpot; You tell your DH thank-you for the suggestions but this table will end up costing me 3 times more than I paid for it if I have to get a new mirror & sconces.but I love his suggestion  ,my DH gets a kick out of us also.He always asks is Flowerpot,Dustbunny, Janet on there he is getting to know everyone too just from listening to me. :)

Sweetpea OMG you will laugh at this I think.
DH was in the room a minute ago and asked what was I doing.
So I showed him your problem and low and behold he had a good suggestion.
Here goes from DH.
Get a smaller mirror and get sconces( light) on each side of mirror.
Then candles and vase on table,

He loved your table. I told im getting one :biglol:
Arent men just so cute SOMETIMES?

I like the one with the vase on the left with 1 tall lamp. Maybe a vase that is a little less busy the table has a lot going on and you don't want to take away from it with much on top. The smaller lamps to me make it look to much like a bedroom than a hallway.

i would say your table is larger and nicer than the ones at GT.....got those candles on there yet? waiting for pics.........

Thats a cute table for the hallway.
Unless you really need a lamp in that area I would forget the lamps completely and I also would not put the flowers as there are enough flowers on the painted table.
I would go with another deco piece alltogether and maybe a couple of pillar candles in different heights.

I like #3 the most, but I would lose the lamps all together. I agree that the lamp is too large for that console. I would just center the vase with the mirror and keep it simple.. :)

Just curious Janet do you re-call the price of the ones at GT I think I got a good deal, how can I go wrong for $86.00. I have seen this furniture on HBC site in the past at awesome prices I looked but they don't have any right now.I know it is not expensive and that doesn't bother me , I think it adds interest to my home :)
I may go out to-day to look at another piece for my hallway.I'll post if I purchase :)

thanks sweetpea....i thought yours was much larger....i walked into a giant tiger last night and couldnt believe it, they had two of these tables, only two left....but i wasnt sure if they were too small, but it sounds about the same size as yours......this giant tiger was the one that is about 15 mins away.....ours didnt have them....thanks sweetpea

that looks much better with the mirror raised......and im not a good judge as i like two lamps, but i also like it with one lamp.....let me study it more :) ....i do like it with the books...do you have a little object to sit on top of the books... what are the measurements of your table

:biglol: I have raised the mirror, packed up the CT lamps and tried Janet's suggestions The books are there just to give an idea .I would get the ornament type that is not a real book ,if I go with the book idea,I have seen them at Winners the odd time
Here are the latest with the mirror raised a bit.' :)

i went back to your original pictures with the two tall lamps.....do you still have them, i wonder if they will be fine once you move the mirror higher......what are the measurements of your new stand?.....if you still have the two tall lamps, how about trying a bowl inbetween or a stack of books....dont forget to take a picture :)

Hi Lisa; Actually I have packaged the CT lamps and they are going back ,way too small. I will be looking for 20" ones I think that will be the right size. Thanks for your help. :)

Hi Sweetpea...Great find on lamps-but not sure what to tell you.
You may want to check Winners/Homesense for some that are slightly taller...maybe@ 20''?? I do like the 2 lamps though :)

sweetpea3's picture
sweetpea3

DBD; I will be raising the mirror higher,as I think you are absolutely right,it should help with the height of the lamps. :)

DBD.You are amazing Thank -you ,HOW DID YOU DO THAT?never mind I probably wouldn't get it anyway
Here are the lamps I purchased at CT they are 16" high but I think they are too small I left the cellophane on in case of returning  What do you think. I liked the glass one from CT but found it looked too modern for this table. I can always wait and hope to find some at Winners.

I am going to throw a hammer into the mix again. After seeing the measured height of those lamps it occurred to me that the table is much lower than we may be imagining. So here's a version with how large I think an average sized human (5'6" maybe) would be based on the height of the wall switches.

The problem I now see is the mirror is probably too low now and moving it up to a height so even someone who is 6'+ can see their face might change the whole lamp issue. Then some other objects like the urn which are tall enough to make up some of the wall space might put a different proportion on things.

What do you think?

Edit: not sure what happened there but my model's socks are apparently sagging a bit since I first put her in the picture...go figure.

I agree that the lamp size is too high for the table. I have a lamp that is 25" high on a 4 foot by 16 in. entrance table.

Hi Sweetpea,
I like the first CT lamp - the 20" one... it's very nice!
If you still plan on using this lamp on the table under the mirror, I'd only purchase one.

I am so stupid, I re -measured the lamps and they are 29"( memory lapse from the lamps to the computer,)I knew it had a 9 in it
I have posted 2 more from CT the 1st one is 20" and the 2nd 18".
I will be checking out CT. should I purchase 1 or 2 lamps?
Thanks for all of your help or patience :)

I still like the flowers on the left and the lamp on the right.
Do you think the lamps you posted are to small sweetpea?

Flowerpot.
